I’m Anna Sale, an interviewer and writer likened by The New York Times to “a therapist at happy hour.” Since 2014, I’ve hosted the podcast Death, Sex & Money, now produced with Slate. I’ve also contributed to This American Life and Fresh Air and written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, Buzzfeed, and Transom, among others. My 2021 book and audiobook Let’s Talk About Hard Things was called “a book that made us think and act differently this year” by Vox and compared to “a conversation with a good friend” by The New Yorker.

I grew up in West Virginia and now live in Berkeley with my two kids and husband Arthur, a wildlife ecologist whose work often takes us to Cody, Wyoming.
